Spotted Lanternfly Is Destroying NJ Trees. We Stop It.

Contact insecticide treatments and egg mass removal to protect your trees and property. Active season coverage from May through November, plus winter egg removal to break the cycle.

Contact Insecticide and Egg Mass Removal

We apply contact insecticide (bifenthrin or permethrin) directly to tree trunks, stems, and surfaces where spotted lanternflies feed. These insects congregate on bark and lower trunks, making targeted treatment highly effective.

We also target egg masses on trees, rocks, and structures -- physically scraping them off and spraying the surface to prevent re-laying. Repeat applications every 3 to 4 weeks during the active season (May through November) keep populations under control.

Importantly, we do not use systemic insecticides that are absorbed through the soil. Our contact-only approach stays on the surface and breaks down quickly, protecting pollinators and the surrounding ecosystem.

  • Bifenthrin or permethrin contact spray on tree trunks and stems
  • Physical egg mass removal from trees, rocks, and structures
  • Treatments every 3-4 weeks during active season
  • Contact-only -- no systemic soil-absorbed insecticides
  • Safe for pollinators when applied to bark, not flowers

Safe for Your Children

Treated surfaces (tree bark and lower trunks) should be avoided for 2 hours after application. We do not treat play equipment, swing sets, or active-use areas -- only the trees and surfaces where lanternflies feed.

After the 2-hour window, all treated surfaces are safe. Our technicians clearly mark which trees were treated so you know exactly where the product was applied.

Safe for Dogs and Cats

The same 2-hour dry window applies to pets. Once the product has dried on tree bark and surfaces, it poses no risk to dogs or cats. We avoid spraying near pet water bowls, feeding areas, and spots where pets rest outdoors.

If your dog has a favorite tree to lie under or your cat frequents a specific area of the yard, let us know and we will work around it.

Schedule Your Treatment

Contact-Only Spray Protects the Ecosystem

We never use systemic insecticides that get absorbed into the soil and travel through the tree. Our contact-only approach targets lanternflies directly while protecting everything else.

When applied correctly to bark and structural surfaces (not flowers), our treatment does not affect pollinators. The product breaks down quickly on surfaces exposed to sunlight and weather, leaving no lasting environmental residue.

Year-Round Lanternfly Management

We fight lanternflies in every stage of their lifecycle -- from winter egg masses to active-season adults.

January - March

Egg Mass Removal

We inspect trees, rocks, and structures for egg masses and physically remove them before they hatch. This dramatically reduces next season's population.

May - August

Active Season Spray

Contact insecticide applied to tree trunks and feeding surfaces every 3-4 weeks as nymphs and adults emerge and feed.

September - November

Late Season and Egg Prevention

Continued treatments as adults lay eggs. We target adult populations and begin identifying new egg mass locations for winter removal.
